The Luck of the Irish

A national holiday in Ireland, St. Patrick’s Day has become a prominent part of American culture. This day we celebrate all things green and a culture that has become a prominent part of our world. St. Patrick’s Day marks the arrival of Christianity and the patron saints of Ireland. It is considered the most widely celebrated saints’ day in the world. The shamrock is a well known symbol for this day, and was originally a symbol created by St. Patrick to help explain the holy trinity.

Each individual celebrates this day differently, by attending church, wearing green or by simply enjoying the fabulous cuisine of the Irish. America is well known for celebrating this day with parades, food and of course, beer!

Our celebration of this day will include all things food. We are excited to present our Irish inspired dishes at the EFC this Saturday from 8 to midnight. Some of the dishes we will be featuring are sliced corn beef and cabbage, fried fish and chips, green curry crab cakes and more! See our menu (GreatTime) for more of what we will be featuring.

Looking for something fun to do? Join us Saturday! We hope to see you there.

Fun Fact: Did you know the original color for St. Patrick’s Day was blue?

BCPWN gets a Taste of the Camera

It was a great evening for the Bergen Country Professional Women’s Network (BCPWN). The women of the organization were educated on the importance of distinguishing yourself differently when doing a live and pre-recorded camera presentation. Attendees were hosted by Joe Vargas, the president of MediaMix Studios in Allendale, NJ.

Guests were able to not only gain some educational insight, but were able to network with fellow colleagues. While guests mingled and got to know one another, they enjoyed the tastes of Take Away Gourmet with our signature Fajita Flank Steak Skewer with Tomato Tamarind Dipping Sauce.

Presenting in front of the camera can be nerve-wracking. Joe Vargas came in to give attendees some key tippers when presenting on-camera, whether it is a live show or a pre-recorded one. He distinguished a huge difference between these types of presentations, and offered some wonderful insight into how to properly prepare for your next camera debut!

The best way to learn is to experience. Vargas then gave guests the opportunity to use a teleprompter, sit on camera and direct the camera. This allowed guests to get a well-rounded sample and all the way, and earn share some insider secrets! One of his greatest tips was using video as a way to market yourself and distinguish your brand from others. A great time was had by all at the event.

Get Suited-Up with Take Away Gourmet

No man should be without a good suit hanging in his closet. It is one of the most classic looks a man can wear! Today, there is an endless selection of different colors and styles of suits available, so it is hard to argue that there must be a fit out there for everyone. Modern day fashion has even found ways to make suits versatile. For example, try pairing that suit jacket with a simple pair of jeans. You can even take that fancy shirt you wear with your favorite suit and sport it with jeans as well. Both of these looks take the idea of suits, and turn them into a casual yet upscale look.

While experimenting with the various ways one can wear suit can be a trying task, many men turn to Men’s Health Magazine to gain some insight into the current trends and self-care tips. After all, this information is a state of constant change, so there is always something new to learn! Men’s Health is one of the most popular magazines on the market, and one of the few which are geared towards men’s styling. These facts make Men’s Health Magazine extremely unique.

Twice a year, Men’s Health Magazine sponsors a suiting event at Bloomingdales in Riverside Square Mall,  Hackensack, NJ. Here the company gets a chance to showcase all the latest suit fashion to Bloomingdales’ wide customer base. But what kind of event would it be without some tasty treats? For the third year in a row, Take Away Gourmet has been selected by Men’s Health to be the featured caterer for this upscale fashion event!

It’s going to be a “Brunch by the Bite” kind of day for Take Away Gourmet and the attendees. Guests will be treated to some of Take Away Gourmet’s finest brunch menu items. Some of the featured dishes of the day will be Lobster Mac & Cheese in a Parmesan Cheese Basket with Micro Cilantro and Chopped Jalapenos, Mini Greek Yogurt and Granola on Miso Spoons studded with Raspberries, and Egg & Provolone Cheese Slider on a Brioche Bun with Red Pepper Catsup. Yum!

Join us on Saturday to see some of the latest styles while enjoying a Virgin Mary and Parmesan Tuiles with Caeser Salad & Smoked Black Pepper!! We look forward to seeing you there.
